The company develops and manages on- and off-campus student housing, mainly at colleges and universities in the southeastern and Midwestern US; Texas is its largest market. Place Properties manages about 40 communities, most of which it developed, including nearly 10 additional off-base military housing complexes. Its properties contain a total of more than 17,000 beds. CEO Cecil Phillips founded Phillips International, Place Properties' predecessor, in 1984. The company has offices in Atlanta and Dallas.
